Client Centered Practice

Because many of us define ourselves to a large degree by the jobs we perform and where we work, employees who have experienced a termination or other form of unequal treatment in the workplace are often traumatized and have immediate concerns about the effect on their career, future, financial situation and family.  Ms. Ecker's goal is to educate her clients as to their rights and options and to resolve employment disputes amicably, without resort to litigation when possible.

A significant part of Ms. Ecker’s practice involves alternate dispute resolution of employment disputes.  Ms. Ecker is a court-certified, trained mediator who helps resolve employment matters as both a party advocate and a neutral arbitrator.  When a fair result cannot be achieved through negotiation or an alternate form of dispute resolution, Ms. Ecker is an aggressive, tenacious litigator who has taken more than 100 cases to trial.

Ms. Ecker has dedicated nearly 20 years of practice to the sole representation of employees in employment law matters.  She has successfully negotiated settlements with and litigated against virtually all of the larger management law firms in the Chicago area, whose clients have included numerous Fortune 500 corporations.
